SUBSTANCE: method and aids for relative positioning of three-dimensional (3D) objects in a complex environment involving experts of several fields according to a set of geometrical and/or mathematical constraints, according to which a parametric model is selected for each of the objects. Parametric models including models of the constraints are also selected. A representation of one of the objects is displayed, enabling positioning of another object and the display of that other object on the screen. A data entity relating to the position of one of the objects is obtained for each parametric model including constraint modelling to allow evaluation of the corresponding constraint. If one object is added or displaced the relative positions of the objects are reevaluated.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities owing to optimisation of the arrangement of the first object relative the second object in a complex environment.
