According to the invention, at least one parameter or change in parameter of the gas composition in the inner space of the housing is measured by a sensor lying in the inner space of the housing and/or on the housing, and based on said measurement, the corresponding sensor signal is generated and the sensor signal (S_c) is transmitted to a computation unit (60, 206, 260) where it is compared with a threshold value (K_c), and if said threshold (K_c) is exceeded, either the corresponding load exposure is registered or the corresponding load exposure is registered and the sum of all load exposures (INT_ltc) is calculated or the corresponding load exposure is registered, the sum of all load exposures (INT_ltc) is calculated and by comparing with the maximum value (MAX_ltc) of permissible load exposures, the permissible remaining load exposure or the remaining life (R_ltc) is calculated.

EFFECT: simple and cost-effective monitoring or determination of the condition of a force-measuring device in a housing.
