FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: calibration is carried out using a closed current-conducting calibration ring placed between the electromagnetic inductive frequency sounding device and the earth's surface. The signal from induced currents in the ring is measured at several positions of the device over the ring. Mathematical calculation is used select effective distances from the centre of the generator dipole to centres of receiving dipoles, moments of the receiving dipoles which depend on frequency, and the specified position of the calibration ring, which ensure matching of calculated signals with experimental signals for all operating frequencies and the plurality of distances to the ring.
EFFECT: high accuracy of tuning the device.
