FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in a two-mirror antenna system, the fixed mirror used is a parabolic cylinder in whose focal plane, in parallel to the edge of the cylinder, there are three linear phased antenna arrays (LPAA), wherein the central LPAA is transceiving and the other two LPAA are receiving. Elevation scanning is enabled by adjusting the angular position of the twist of the reflector; azimuthal scanning of the beam pattern for transmission is carried out through the central LPAA; monopulse reception of the signal in the azimuthal plane enabled by processing the signal received from each LPAA; monopulse reception in the elevation plane is enabled by using the difference in signals received by two laterial LPAA; the overall beam pattern during elevation and azimuthal reception used is the composite signal received from the central LPAA in a given direction.
EFFECT: high rate of azimuthal scanning of a two-mirror monopulse antenna system.
