SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition of a crude mixture which can be used to make sculpture. The crude mixture for making sculpture, which contains gypsum binder and starch, additionally contains cast-iron shavings ground to complete passage through a 009 sieve and urea-formaldehyde resin, with the following ratio of components in wt %: cast-iron shavings 48.0-52.0, gypsum binder 43.0-49.0, urea-formaldehyde resin 2.0-3.0, starch 1.0-2.0.
EFFECT: high density of articles formed from the crude mixture while ensuring sharpness of their contours.
