FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel herbicide showing excellent herbicidal effects, which has a wide range of applications, including agricultural fields and non-agricultural fields and various application methods including soil treatment and foliage treatment. A benzoylpyrazole compound of formula , where R1 is methyl, ethyl or isopropyl, R2 is a hydrogen atom or methyl, R3 is alkyl, R4 is methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, n-propyl or n-butyl, R4 is methyl, R5 is methoxyethoxy, R6 is methylsulphonyl, A is -CH(CH3); method of producing said compound; a herbicide containing said compound as an active ingredient; and a method for controlling undesired plants or inhibiting growth thereof, which involves applying a herbicidally effective amount thereof to the undesired plants or to a place where they grow.
