FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: device for drying of polymer particles with an inert gas comprises the first distribution grid designed to supply the first inert gas flow through it, the first drying chamber installed above the first distribution grid, having a circular shape and designed to maintain the polymer in a fluidizated condition by the first inert gas flow, the second drying chamber, comprising a tubular element, concentrically arranged in the first drying chamber, stretching through it and protruding down under the first distribution grid, the second distribution grid arranged in the lower part of the tubular element and designed to supply the second inert gas flow through it. The method to dry a polymer with an inert gas includes the following stages: drying of polymer particles in the first drying chamber, having a circular shape to maintain polymer particles in a fluidizated condition by the first inert gas flow flowing upwards with cyclonic motion, rising along the spiral in the second drying chamber; further drying of polymer particles in the second drying chamber comprising a tubular element, with lowering of polymer particles in a plug flow contacting with the second inert gas flow.

EFFECT: method and device make it possible to dry polymer particles with improved efficiency with considerably lower time of polymer staying in a drying device.
