FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an olefin polymer, comprising steps of: forming a disperse olefin polymer in a gas-phase polymerization reactor in the presence of C3-C5 alkane as a diluent for polymerization; separating unloaded polyolefin particles from simultaneously discharged gas at pressure from 1 to 2.2 MPa; degassing the polyolefin particles at a pressure of from 0.1 to 0.4 MPa gas containing C3-C5 alkane; and transfer of separated gas and gas from the degasifier to a reaction gas processing plant operating at pressure which is 0.001–0.2 MPa below the separation pressure, wherein the gas for degassing is continuously supplied from the gas treatment plant.

EFFECT: method of producing an olefin polymer according to the invention enables to use a compressor of lower efficiency, and also enables to control the distillation process of generating a stream of C3-C5 alkane for degassing the unloaded polyolefin particles using water as a cooling medium.
