FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method refers to medicine, namely preventing and treating diabetes mellitus by the exposure to blue light spectrum as a part of an integrated therapy. In skin damage free cases, it is the whole body that is exposed to a hydromassage and light exposure apparatus placed at 3-5 cm from skin; the apparatus is equipped with monochromatic blue spectrum emitters at wave lengths 440-470 nm. Power density is 50-300×10-3 Wt/cm2 with resonant frequency 50 Hz; the exposure is conducted for 10-12 minutes daily in the morning and in the evening. Observing skin damages requires applying a phototherapeutic apparatus with monochromatic blue spectrum emitters at wave lengths 440-470 nm at power density min. 300×10-3 Wr/cm2 and resonant frequency 50 Hz which generate the light to be directed on the belly area. The emitter is placed at 15-20 cm from skin with the procedure preceded by skin treatment by an aqueous-alcoholic solution with the alcohol content 40-80%.

EFFECT: method allows reducing or eliminating drug load ensured by the lower blood glucose concentration.
