SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tetrahydroxypentaboric acid HB5O6(OH)4 and salts thereof. The chemical compound: , where M is an ammonium ion H4N+. To obtain tetrahydroxypentaboric acid, orthoboric acid is condensed in a medium of molten carbamide. The reaction mass is dissolved in water and exposed to mineral acid. Tetrahydroxypentaboric acid salts are obtained by reacting tetrahydroxypentaboric acid with bases.
EFFECT: said compounds can be used as herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, defoliants and plant growth stimulants.
