FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, mainly, for metallurgy. Mix comprises inert carbon bearing ingredient in amount of 5-15%, active carbon bearing ingredient in amount of 3-10%, mineral ingredient containing transition metal oxides with oxidised transition metal cation Me+2, Me+3 and Me+4 in amount of 10-40%, heat-insulating ingredient making the rest. Anthracite or culm is used as inert carbon-bearing ingredient. Jet coal, or fiery coal, or lignite is used as active carbon-bearing ingredient. Converter slag, or blast-furnace slag, or roll scale, or iron ore, or manganese ore, or red slag of aluminium industry is used as mineral ingredient. Expanded natural mineral of hydromica series is used heat-insulating ingredient.
EFFECT: reduced heat losses from melt exposed surface.
