FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: steel which contains the following, wt %, is made: 0.04 - 0.30 C; 1.0 - 3.5 Mn; 0 - 1.0 Si; 0 - 2.0 Al; 0.4 - 0.8 Cr; 0 - 0.02 P; 0 - 0.01 S; 0 - 0.25 V; 0 - 0.1 Nb; 0 - 0.20 Ti; 0 - 0.015 N; 0 - 0.010 B; iron and inevitable impurities are the rest. Strip is obtained, heated to temperature of incomplete annealing and exposed at that temperature during the time which is sufficient to provide 90-65% of ferrite and 10-35% of austenite in the strip. Strip is cooled to overageing temperature with further exposure at that temperature. Strip is heated to zinc plating temperature and coating is applied by submerging the strip into the bath of molten zinc alloy consisting of 0.3 - 4.0% Mg and 0.05 - 6.0% Al; optionally, maximum 0.2% of one or more additional elements of Pb, Sb, Ti, Ca, Mn, Sn, La, Ce, Cr, Ni, Zr or Bi; zinc and inevitable impurities are the rest. The obtained strip is cooled.

EFFECT: strips have high strength and corrosion resistance at providing complete wettability with zinc alloy of steel substrate.
