FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to chemistry. Synthesis gas is obtained by spraying and/or evaporating a stream of liquid hydrocarbon material at temperature from 50 to 500°C and pressure from 0.2 to 5 MPa. Spraying is carried out using a gaseous propellant, possibly with addition of CO2, selected from steam and/or gaseous hydrocarbon. The sprayed and/or steam-like stream of liquid hydrocarbons is mixed with an oxidative stream, possibly with steam, possibly with a stream of gaseous hydrocarbons at temperature from 50 to 500°C and pressure from 0.2 to 5 MPa. The reaction mixture is passed through at least a first structured catalyst layer to form a mixture of reaction products containing H2 and CO. Said structured catalyst layer contains a catalyst for catalytic partial oxidation, placed in one or more interlayers. The mixture of reaction products is cooled. The apparatus has an inlet section I, a device for spraying/evaporating liquid streams into a mixing section II, a reaction section III, means of heating said structured catalyst layers, a section IV for cooling the mixture of reaction products.

EFFECT: invention enables to use different types of material to obtain synthesis gas.
