FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: running-in method of ICE consists in the fact that the engine is subject to cold running-in with further uniform continuous stepped loading. Acoustic emission converters are fixed on cover plates of base bearings prior to running-in process. Nominal shaft speed Ht is set after running-in in idle mode and maintained on constant revolutions by means of fuel feed member; and at the same time, uniform continuous stepped loading of the engine is performed. Loading is performed in successive steps till maximum engine power is reached. Load increase and further stabilisation is performed at each step. Duration of load increase is restricted with the moment when critical value of amplitude of acoustic emission pulses is reached. Stabilisation is determined with stability of reached load and with duration till the moment when amplitude of acoustic emission pulses is decreased.
EFFECT: improving the quality and shortening the time required for running-in process.
