FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises translational feed of cutting rollers with screw thread relative to machined part in joint coordinated rotation of rollers driven by revolving part and with parallel location of axes of rollers and part. Tangential heads are used for cutting thread of unlimited length. Cutting rollers are fed to part both tangentially and axially with respect to part surface, and axially with respect to part axis, in direction of cutting feed. Note here that cutting rollers are fed tangentially to geometrical alignment of rollers and part on one straight line. Thereafter, tangential feed is terminated to continue axial feed unless required length of thread is reached and cutting cycle is terminated to feed rollers back into initial position. Said tangential feed may be started from position wherefrom rollers ends are shifted axially relative to part end face by amount of tangential feed in direction opposite the roller axial feed.
EFFECT: expanded cutting performances.
