FIELD: machining. SUBSTANCE: lateral and longitudinal feeding of a thread cutting tool are controlled. Every time the initial position of the lateral feeding is shifted with respect to the previous one inversely proportional to the number of runs performed. During the first turn of a thread cutting the lateral feeding is then uniformly increased by a value of increasing radial pressing out of a tool. The steady-state thread cutting is then performed, the lateral feeding of a tool being constant. During the last turn the lateral feeding is decreased by the value of the radial pressing out of a tool. Longitudinal feeding increases by a value of the axial pressing out of a tool during the first turn. The steady-state thread cutting is then performed. During the last turn the longitudinal feeding decreases by a value of the increasing axial pressing out of a tool. Required relationships are available in the invention description. EFFECT: simplified method. 2 cl, 1 dwg
