SUBSTANCE: free-piston double-cylinder energy module of double purpose with a common external combustion chamber and a linear power generator comprises a common external combustion chamber, two piston expansion machines, a linear power generator and a control system. An energy module converts exothermal energy of engine fuel into power in one mode and into energy of a gaseous working body with high parameters of temperature and pressure in another one. To change an energy module from one mode into another one, there is a valve. In a closed position of the valve the energy module acts as a power generator. In an open position - as a gas generator and a power generator.
EFFECT: invention provides for conversion of exothermal energy of engine fuel into power and energy of a gaseous working body with high pressure parameters and temperature for driving of expansion machines.
