FIELD: information technologies.
SUBSTANCE: at first expected areas of coverage are determined for multiple transfers, which shall be transferred in several time intervals. The length of the cyclic prefix for these transfers is selected on the basis of the expected zones of coverage. The length of the cyclic prefix for each transfer may be selected from a set of permitted lengths of the cyclic prefix on the basis of the expected zone of coverage of this transfer, displacement of a pilot signal used for transfer, etc. For instance, the least length of the cyclic prefix may be selected for each local transfer, and the highest length of the prefix may be selected for each transfer of wide coverage. The selected length of the cyclic prefix may be transferred to terminals. Transfers are processed (for instance, modulation is performed with orthogonal frequency division of signals, i.e. OFDM-modulation) on the basis of the selected length of the cyclic prefix. The length of the cyclic prefix may be selected periodically, for instance, in each superframe.
EFFECT: reduction of negative effect of delays spread.
