SUBSTANCE: pilot signal is used in combination with three detection stages. In the first stage, an attempt is made to detect the leading edge of the correlation curve, related to the first pilot symbol. In the second stage, after the trailing edge of the correlation curve is found, an acknowledgement is made, that it was leading edge found in the first stage. Besides, during the second stage the frequency adjustment contour is updated in order to compensate for frequency shift. The third stage is used to detect the trailing edge of the correlation curve in case it was not detected during the second stage. After the receiving of first pilot signal is detected, a second pilot signal can be used to obtain an accurate timing for the symbol.
EFFECT: increase of synchronisation accuracy.
