FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: variable-cycle turbofan comprises larger single-stage fan, first and second outer channels, first and second jet nozzles. Smaller single-stage fan is arranged downstream of larger fan and communicated therewith. Both fans are coupled independently with appropriate turbines. First outer channel is communicated with second fan to surround engine inner stage including compressor, combustion chamber, and turbine coupled with compressor. Second outer channel surrounds first outer channel and is communicated with first fan. First jet nozzle can be communicated with engine inner channel and first outer channel. Second jet nozzle can be communicated with second outer channel. First outer channel is directly communicated with second fan to allow discharge of first outer channel flow via first jet nozzle and, in parallel flow, with second jet nozzle. Second outer channel flow interacts with inversion posts of flow direction to selectively discharged via second nozzle.
EFFECT: reduced noses, weight and overall dimensions.
