FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Proposed method consists in that blank is made with surfaces to be welded to car door inner panel. Thin-sheet is subjected to elastoplastic strain to produce preset safety rail 3D profile. Safety rail arched sections are seamless. Flange foreparts feature unequal length while faces are parallel with arc length making 567 mm. Forepart flange maximum width makes 76 mm. Arc section inner surface has three bends, two are plane-parallel while central surface is inclined to abutting plane-parallel surface. Flanging is made with surfaces with different inclination that form arc on face side. Arc surfaces are welded together after making blanks by plastic multiple-cycle rolling of thin-sheets made to pattern.
EFFECT: decreased weight, sufficient strength.
