FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photochromic polymer recording media based on a new family of thermally irreversible diarylethenes and specifically aryl-substituted cyclopentene benzthienyl derivatives of diarylethenes for use in new-generation multilayer optical discs with capacity of more than 1 TB, which enable to make three-dimensional (3D) optical random-access memory. The photochromic recording medium contains polymer binder and a thermally irreversible photochromic compound from the class of diarylethene derivatives of formula I:
, where R-C(O)C(O)OEt or C(O)Me. Based on said photochromic recording medium, multilayer recording media are obtained, having alternating photochromic recording media and polymer optically transparent layers. The production method involves repeated application of optically transparent polymer layers with thickness of 40-50 nm by photopolymerisation of acrylic oligomeric compositions and photochromic recording layers with thickness of 10 mcm by centrifuging.
EFFECT: disclosed photochromic recording media are characterised by low cost of production, availability, functional properties which enables wide application thereof in information technologies.
