FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of measuring flow rate of electroconductive liquid, according to which at a controlled section inside a pipe, two main electrodes are installed which act as a sensor; said electrodes are mounted and connected to an electric circuit with a measuring device and a power supply; an electrical parameter is measured and the measured quantity is converted to units of flow rate of the liquid. One electrode is immovable and the other is mounted through an elastic member such that it moves under the action of the flow of the liquid relative the immovable electrode. Electroconductivity of the liquid in the gap between the main electrodes is measured and flow rate of the liquid in the pipe is determined from the value of electroconductivity.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of measuring flow rate of electroconductive liquid.
