FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: when analysing and predicting development of a complex-structure system, a database of system objects is created in three-dimensional space and the database is analysed by slicing. The database is created in form of a multi-stage, multi-level hierarchical database of system objects, starting with objects of the lowest hierarchical level. The database is created from parameters of objects of the lowest level in three-dimensional space with the axes: low level object - low level parameters - time. Second level objects are formed by mathematical processing of parameters of first level objects. A set of second level objects is formed in three-dimensional space with the axes: second level objects - second level parameters - time. Third level objects are formed from second level objects similar to the formation of second level objects from first level objects etc. Slicing of the obtained hierarchical database is carried out in levels with detection of patterns in the state and development of the complex-structure system.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of displaying data.
