FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to surgical cutting instruments and may be used for microsurgical operations in ophthalmology. An ophthalmic microsurgical blade comprises a body with a single-crystal silicon base and a cutting edge. The body base and the V-shaped cutting edge are coated with layers of thermally grown silicon dioxide of the thickness of (700÷1200) E and silicon boride of the thickness of (100÷200) E.
EFFECT: improved strength and hardness, and higher wear resistance.
