FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: cutter for mining machines comprises a holder with an axial channel, in which a cutter tail is fixed as capable of rotation and limited axial displacement. In the axial channel between the end of the axial channel and the tail there is an elastic element installed. The feature of the proposed cutter is the fact that the holder is made with at least one radial groove, in which a guide rod is fixed. The tail of the cutting tip is made with an inclined groove on the outer surface for interaction with the guide rod of the holder. The elastic element is made of a high-molecular material reinforced with a twisted thin-wire spring.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of operation due to guaranteed rotation of a tail jointly with a working insert.
