FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: device for obtaining boron fibres includes a composite housing consisting of nondemountable glass chambers. Each chamber includes two mercury and two gas nozzles made in the form of glass tubes. Inside each chamber there located are flattened cone-shaped glass elements soldered in between gas nozzle for supply of vapours of boron-containing compounds and gas nozzle for removal of reactant gases with formation of a mercury tank and converging in the movement direction of core in the form of tungsten wire, on which boron is deposited. In narrow part of flattened cone-shaped elements there arranged are inserts from abrasive material with holes.
EFFECT: improving productivity and reliability of the device, simplifying its maintenance and improving technogenic safety.
