FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be applied in chemical technology. Method of aluminium dodecaboride synthesis includes mixing aluminium subchloride vapour and boron chloride or fluoride vapour. One version of aluminium dodecaboride synthesis includes passing aluminium subchloride vapour above elementary boron. Second version of synthesis includes passing aluminium subchloride vapour above boron anhydride melt. Vapour of aluminium subchloride is obtained by passing vapour of aluminium chloride, or molecular chlorine, or hydrogen chloride above aluminium melt.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to reduce size of synthesised particles of aluminium dodecaboride and exclude stage of filtration and separation of aluminium dodecaboride crystals from aluminium diboride and aluminium melt.
