SUBSTANCE: method for synchronisation with the required time interval in a receiving device in a TDMA system involves frequency tuning in the system, searching for the required set of synchronising combinations at said frequency, which is mutually exclusive for other sets of synchronising combinations used in the system at said frequency. Each set contains at least two different synchronising combinations as a function of the type of useful information, if one of the synchronising combinations belonging to the required set of synchronising combinations is detected at said frequency and synchronised over the time interval on which the synchronising combination was detected, and information corresponding to said type of useful information is received.

EFFECT: shorter time required for the receiving device to be synchronised with the required time interval.
