FIELD: packing industry.

SUBSTANCE: this invention relates to the method of making a package with self-release of air designed for use when warming a food product in a microwave oven. The package is made with a damaged welded seam (3), comprising a seam that connects inner layers, creating a weakening zone on the specified package with the possibility of rupturing under action of the excessive pressure inside the package. The specified method includes the following serial stages: an open plastic package is taken; the specified package is filled with a food product; the plastic package is sealed by making a connection seam with production of the closed package, containing a food product ready for sterilisation; heat treatment of the specified food product is carried out. Using the method of ultrasonic welding, a damaged welded seam (3) is arranged on the package.

EFFECT: invention provides for elimination of the possibility of appearance of unwanted excessive pressure inside a package.
