FIELD: radio engineering, communications.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on application of a rotary radar system with electronic tilt and azimuth scanning, using a single-pulse method for measurement of azimuth and tilt target coordinates, distribution of resources of a detection function independently on tracking functions, besides, a time interval per antenna rotation is distributed into space scanning intervals and tracking intervals, the speed of rotation of the radar system provides for required speed of data update for targets tracking. The method functions are maintained by usage of two phased arrays providing for electronic tilt and azimuth scanning of a beam with simultaneous azimuth rotation, besides, the first and second phased arrays are directed towards opposite sides, duration, tracking period and moment of emission of probing pulses of both phased antenna arrays coincide, and control of angular position of phased antenna arrays beams is carried out independently.
EFFECT: reduced time for radar scanning of space and detection of targets and realisation of accurate tracking of targets with high rate of information update.
