FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: polyurethane foam-based material includes a reaction product of a polyol having molecular weight higher than 3000 and mono-alcohol content kess than 10 wt %, a cross-linking agent, an amine catalyst which includes a blowing catalyst and a gelling catalyst, isocyanate, a surfactant and water. The ratio of the blowing catalyst to the gelling catalyst ranges from 1:3 to 1:8 by weight. The polyol and isocyanate have stoichiometric ratio (index) ranging from 85 to 105. The method of making articles from foam having open cells involves the following steps: providing said polyol, cross-linking agent, amine catalyst, isocyanate, surfactant and water in order to form a reaction mixture; filling a mould with the reaction mixture to form an article from the foam; heat curing the article made from foam; removing the article from the mould; and pressing the article made from foam.

EFFECT: obtaining material for making seat cushions and other seat materials, having improved dynamic and static properties and high elasticity.
