A service node generates a unique network address using the network address prefix for the network address associated with the access point device. The service node is registered in a DNS server. Messages sent to the service node are routed through an access point which corresponds to the received prefix used to generate the unique network address for the service node. Network addresses for the service node and the access point can be IPv6 addresses, and the network address prefix can be an IPv6 prefix or can be an IPv4 address.
