SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of treatment and/or prevention of degenerative state of joint in a domestic animal which requires it. Method includes feeding a domestic animal with composition for domestic animal feeding, which contains alpha-lipoic acid or its salt, in quantity, effective for treatment or prevention of degenerative state of joint, where effective quantity constitutes from approximately 100 ppm to approximately 600 ppm.
EFFECT: application of claimed invention will make it possible to treat and/or prevent degenerative state of joint, osteoarthritis, injury of cartilage tissue, as well as to maintain or increase mineral density of bone tissue.
