FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to waterworks and is intended for water intake from open water bodies and its filtration. Proposed filter comprises casing with central shell provided with branch pipe for connection with water intake system manifold, filtration elements, distributor, and filter regeneration device. Filtration element represents a slotted shield made of V-section wire. Section of every filtration element represents an oval; distribution device is composed of variable-perforation tube; regeneration device is composed of backwash tube made up of manifold and tubes connected thereto to rest of stiffness rings of filtration elements with rows of conical nozzles facing the surface of filtration elements.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of water filtration.
