FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composite material which contains fibrous material impregnated with polyamide resin, wherein at least 50 mol. % of diamine structural units is obtained from xylylenediamine. The number-average molecular weight of the polyamide resin varies from 6000 to 30000. The polyamide resin contains 0.5-5 wt % of a component with molecular weight higher than 1000. Described also is a method of producing the composite material and a method of making a moulded article. The composite material can be used to make components, housings, casings of electrical/electronic products, as well as for car components.
EFFECT: composite material which consists of polyamide resin based on xylylenediamine and fibrous material, and the moulded article do not exhibit deterioration of properties at high temperatures and high humidity, are characterised by high modulus of elasticity with low degree of deformation, and also demonstrate improved recycling properties, improved mouldability and improved efficiency than ordinary thermosetting resins.
