SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the use of cationic polymers that can be prepared by radical copolymerisation of the following monomers: a) 60 to 99 mol % of at least one 1-vinylimidazole, b) 1 to 40 mol % of at least one monomer able for radical polymerisation and quaternisation selected from N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate, N-[3-(dimethylamino)-propyl]methacrylamide and their mixtures, c) 0 to 30 mol % of N-vinyl lactam, wherein the total amount of the monomers a) to c) is 100% in hair or skin care preparations.
EFFECT: use of the cationic polymers in the hair or skin care preparations.
