SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device for application of coating on the surface of the substrate in the form of paper, cardboard or polymer films, mainly for finishing printed products and a method for its implementation. The device comprises a coating unit made with the ability of application of the coating material in liquid form on the surface of the substrate and the lateral structured coating, leaving empty the sites of the surface of the substrate, a transport device made with the ability to move the surface of the substrate relative to the coating unit in the direction of moving past it, mainly due to the movement of the substrate past the motionless coating unit, a device for leveling the still liquid film applied to the surface of the substrate through the coating unit, and the device comprises means for creating a gas stream which is directed to the surface of the substrate covered with the film and, with at least partial removal of unwanted structures of the film surface such as depressions, rises and craters, levels the film before curing of the coating material.
EFFECT: elimination and/or leveling of damages resulting from application of coating.
