SUBSTANCE: device comprises a support unit (6), equipped with a board edge (7), fixed on the tail assembly of a mortar shell (1), which connects an element (8) between the support unit and the tail assembly of the mortar shell. The connecting element is made as capable of connection of the mortar shell and the connecting element with the tail assembly of the mortar shell by means of mechanical connection. In the connection with the connecting element (8) there is a section, which is deformed during firing, making it possible for the mortar shell (1) to break from the support unit (6), and a trigger mechanism (17) for ignition of the main cap (10) of the mortar shell. The mechanical connection between the connecting element (8) and the support unit (6) is formed with the help of a pin connection 14.
