DRILLABLE PACKER Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC E21B33/12 

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: drillable packer includes a setting tool that consists of a cylinder and a piston with a hollow stock, a hollow cylindrical housing with thread cutting on outside surface. A sealing element with upper and lower cone supports, upper and lower slips and pushers are installed on the housing. Slips are made so that they can be moved in longitudinal direction along cone surfaces of the supports. Upper pusher interacts with the cylinder of the setting tool and is equipped with a fastener. Lower pusher is connected to the housing and hollow stock of the piston and equipped with a spring fastener. From below, hollow stock of the setting tool is rigidly attached to a shank. The shank below the lower pusher is equipped with radial channels and with a plug from below. The plug has an annular recess from the outside and has the possibility of entering tightly the lower pusher. The shank is rigidly attached to a collet from below. A plug having an internal annular recess for the collet wedges is arranged on the outside of the collet. They allow fixing the plug on outside surface of the collet when the spring fastener leaves the annular recess of the plug and the shank moves downwards. The collet has the possibility of being disengaged from the plug after the plug is fixed with a spring fastener of the lower pusher across the annular recess of the plug at the next upward movement of the shank. The end of the lower pusher is equipped with diametrically tapered scalloped surface for fixation of a drillable packer on the bottom of the well. The sealing element is made in the form of three seals: one main seal and two additional seals with internal longitudinal slots. Hardness of additional seals is higher than hardness of the main seal. The housing is equipped with an external longitudinal projection that interacts with an internal longitudinal slot of seals. The plug is arranged inside the shank, and when in transport position, it tightly covers the radial channels of the shank.

EFFECT: avoiding losses of tightness with a sealing element at high pressures of pumping or flushing at a simple packer design; possibility of multiple pumping of compounds under the packer with maintenance of a technological pause; reducing the packer drilling time after repair and isolation works are completed.
