FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: device for determining wear resistance of inclined current-collecting brushes at high contact current density consists of a housing, a movable element (a brush holder) with a material test specimen fixed in the latter by means of a clamping plate and a counterbody of a friction machine. The device housing is rigidly attached to the shaft providing the possibility of the housing being turned to any side in the plane parallel to sliding direction. The device is fixed on the friction machine housing through a textolite plate (wall). The housing shaft is freely put on bearings that are fixed on the textolite plate and an opposite wall of the device. The device housing turn is fixed by a turn indicator installed on the device wall. Current is supplied to the tested material specimen through a frame (walls) of the device.
EFFECT: possible determination of the brush material wear resistance at friction with high contact current density without any lubrication for the cases when the brush is in an inclined position.
