FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: continuous or pulsed radio signal received on a mobile object from the system radiator is phase-modulated at shifted Doppler frequency at a constant rate fM. The modulated signal is split into three components - a central component and two peripheral components. The phase of the central component is varied at the same constant rate fM, but in the opposite direction. The phase of peripheral components is varied relative that of the central component at rates Δf1(t) and Δf2(t), wherein the phase change directions have opposite signs but equal magnitudes |Δf1(t)|=|Δf2(t)|. The modulated central and peripheral components are summed on a two-channel system. One of the two resultant radio signals is phase shifted by 180 degrees and both signals are successively emitted from spatially spaced apart points on the object. The switching frequency of the emitted signals is higher than the bandwidth of the selecting device of the radar receiver. To increase the cycle slip probability, deviation on speed and phase modulation are carried out with narrow-band noise at the frequency of the received signal.

EFFECT: high efficiency of counteracting control systems, higher amplitude of oscillation of a radar antenna and high cycle slip probability in both single-position and multi-position systems.
