SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming, particularly, to punching tools. Tool safety device prevents undesirable release of punching die from guide body on gripping punching tool by head. For this, it is equipped with base guide reliably secured with respect to punching die in direction of gripping force acting at punching die and counter guide secured relative to body in direction of said gripping force. Said guide are configured to allow reliable interaction in, at least, one relative peripheral position of attachment and release of punching dire from guide body in direction of gripping force in relative peripheral position of release shifted relative to said peripheral position in circular direction, around lengthwise axis.

EFFECT: higher reliability.
