FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorption treatment of water. The apparatus has a chamber, having an inlet and outlet for a liquid stream and a sorbent element which is hydrodynamically linked to the inlet and the outlet. The chamber is a composite column with a funnel, wherein the connecting parts of the top part of the column enter its bottom part. The structure is fastened by rods and bolts, and is connected to a receiving device fitted with a pump. The sorbent element is a removable cartridge with sorbent material which is placed inside the chamber and is supported by a grid. The method of preparing the sorbent material involves cutting discs from polyurethane, washing, drying and successively saturating the matrix with chemicals to form in the matrix a mixture of iron oxyhydroxide and manganese (IV) dioxide in ratio of 5:1.
EFFECT: high efficiency of concentrating elements from water and easier use of the apparatus.
