FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: blend containing aluminium and silicon oxides and coal are fed into lined bath as well as power sufficient for smelting said blend and reducing oxides to metals so that aluminium-silicon alloy is formed. Coal fed in said blend is used as reducing agent. Melt bath volume is horizontally divided into reaction zone and settling zone. Power is fed by means of fuel-oxygen blasting into reaction zone bottom so that required temperature is ensured and melt is mixed by burbling by blasting and gases produced by coal coking, and aluminium and silicon oxides are obtained while coke residue carbon is partially oxidised and fuel is combusted. Formed melt is discharge from settling zone top part while slag melt is discharged from settling zone bottom and is loaded back into reaction zone top part for additional reduction. Note here that off-gases are discharged from the bath and burnt up in reheat chamber ahead of heat-recovery boiler.
EFFECT: higher efficiency irrespective of raw stock quality.
