SUBSTANCE: proposed is a control panel (100) for a dish washing machine and a dish washing machine with such control panel. The said control panel contains a control device containing an actuator control mechanism (104), having indicator means linked thereto, and a light-emitting element (112) that is disabled (50) while the doo nit is the closed position and enabled when the said door unit is put out of the closed position by way of turning. The said light-emitting element interacts with the light-diffusing element, light emitted interacting with the said light-diffusing element for highlighting the indicator means linked to the said actuator control mechanism. The panel cover element (150) is designed so that to enable at least partial coverage of the said control device, thus to facilitate its interaction with the said actuator control mechanism. The said panel cover element is designed so that light from the light-diffusing element highlighting the indicator means is directed through the light-diffusing element in a certain direction. The said panel cover element is essentially non-translucent while the said light-emitting element is disabled but is at least partly translucent when the light-emitting element is enabled.
