FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding by consumable and nonconsumable electrodes and may be used for welding both ferrous and nonferrous metals and alloys. Proposed torch is furnished with water jacket wherein inlet and outlet channels 8, 9 are opposed in inversed manner relative to axial lengthwise plane of the torch. Inlet channel 8 is located on one lengthwise side of outer surface of inner jacket 6, for example, at the right, while outlet 9 is located on opposite side. Cross-sections of both said channels are shaped to segments. Arrow gc of every channel is define subject to jacket diameter from the following relationship: O<gc<(din,-dout)/2, where din is ID of outer jacket 7, dout is ID of inner jacket 6. In proposed cooling system, exposed surface area is reduced to minimum. Cooling of bottom heated end of collet 3 and electrode secured therein by such fluid features higher intensity.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
