FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in organic synthesis and pharmacology. The method of cleaning sulphate turpentine from sulphur compounds involves preheating sulphate turpentine to temperature of 70-80°C and bringing it into contact with a catalyst at temperature of 60-90°C and initial hydrogen pressure of 0.7-0.9 MPa. The catalyst used is a support - highly porous cellular blocked material based on alpha-Al2O3 with an active substrate made from sulphated zirconium dioxide in amount of 7.7-8.0 wt %, and a catalytically active component - palladium 0.18-0.2 wt %.
EFFECT: invention reduces residual content of sulphur compounds in sulphate turpentine and simplifies the cleaning process.
