METHOD OF PRODUCING TUBES FROM HARDLY-DEFORMED METALS Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC B21C23/08 

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises making seamless tube by hot expansion and forming of predrilled billet per one working cycle of the press. It includes also heating the billet, applying process lubricant, loading the billet into container, expanding the billet in press container by arbour with expanding tip secured in ram, forming the tube by ram in clearance between female die and arbour and separating the tube from moulding residues. Billet is fed by feeder to press axle in space between female die mounted at press front crossbar and moving container. Then, in ram idling, detachable expanding adapter fitted on arbour to slide thereon acts by its conical surface on billet bore. Billet is located by said adapter long press axle in displacement in feeder guides and pressed against female die by force making not over 0.5 of expansion force to preserve billet diameter and to load it into container. Then, feeder is removed from press axle, container is fitted on billet and pressed against female die to ensure uniform clearance between billet and container working chamber. Then, expansion ram first expands the billet to fill container cross-section and to remove squeezed piece. Then said ram forms the tube and extracts expanding adapter from the arbour.

EFFECT: seamless tube produce by hot expansion and forming.
