SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel aldehyde derivatives which contain hydroxyl groups. In formula (I): R1 and R2 each independently denotes a univalent hydrocarbon residue with 1-12 carbon atoms; R3 is a hydrogen atom; R4 and R5 either independently denote a univalent aliphatic residue with 2-20 carbon atoms which may contain 1-2 hydroxyl groups, provided that R has at least one hydroxyl group, or together denote a divalent aliphatic residue with 4-20 carbon atoms, having at least one hydroxyl group and which is part of a substituted heterocyclic ring with 6 ring atoms, wherein said ring contains 2 heteroatoms in form of tertiary amine nitrogen.
EFFECT: invention also relates to a method of producing said aldehydes, a curable or cured composition containing said aldehydes and use of said compositions in gluing, sealing articles or coating an article.
